Terms of Service

1. Definitions

Throughout these Terms of Service ("Terms"), the following terms have the meanings set out below:

  • "Service" means the Sentinel Discord bot, the Sentinel web dashboard at sentinelbot.gg, and all related features, APIs, and content made available by us.
  • "We," "us," or "our" refers to Chopstick308, the individual operator of Sentinel.
  • "You" or "your" refers to the individual or entity accessing or using the Service, including server administrators, server members, and dashboard users.
  • "Server Administrator" means any Discord user who adds Sentinel to a Discord server or holds administrative or ownership permissions in such a server sufficient to configure the Service for that server.
  • "Premium" means the paid per-server subscription tier of the Service described in Section 6, at the price shown on the Pricing or billing pages at the time of purchase.
  • "Fast Tracking" means the optional Premium add-on that enables shorter AI Website Tracking check intervals on eligible Premium servers, subject to the limits shown in the dashboard.
  • "Full AI Credits" means prepaid scan units used for optional Full AI message moderation on Premium servers (one credit per eligible message scan). Selective AI auto-moderation included with Premium does not consume credits.
  • "License Key" means a promotional or owner-issued activation code that grants Premium or Fast Tracking for a limited or permanent period outside of Stripe checkout, typically redeemed by the server owner.
  • "User Content" means any text, configuration data, files, or other material you submit to or through the Service — including dashboard settings, custom command and automation text, embed templates, welcome and verification panel content, sticky and reminder text, ticket-related content, feedback or suggestion submissions, and imported leveling data — but does not include Discord chat history that Sentinel processes only in real time without storing as a general archive.
  • "Virtual Currency" means in-Service economy balances, coins, bank amounts, items, inventory, and similar virtual goods that have no cash value outside the Service.
  • "Discord" refers to Discord Inc. and its platform, which Sentinel operates on but is not affiliated with.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By adding Sentinel to a Discord server, accessing the Sentinel web dashboard, or otherwise using any part of the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately stop using the Service and remove Sentinel from any servers you control.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will indicate the date of the most recent revision above. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice through the dashboard, Discord, or the Service. Your continued use of the Service after any revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.

3. Eligibility and Server Administrator Responsibility

You must be at least 13 years of age — or the minimum age required by Discord's Terms of Service in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater — to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

Server Administrators are solely responsible for: (a) ensuring their Discord servers and their use of Sentinel comply with Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and all applicable laws (including age and privacy rules such as COPPA where applicable); (b) configuring features appropriately for their community; (c) informing members where required about moderation, AI scanning, verification gates, economy systems, or data processing; and (d) any actions the Service takes in their server as a result of their configuration. Members who use the Service in a server do so subject to these Terms and that server's rules.

4. License to Use the Service

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal or internal organizational purposes. This license does not include the right to:

  • Sublicense, sell, resell, transfer, assign, or otherwise commercially exploit the Service;
  • Modify, copy, reproduce, or create derivative works based on the Service or any part thereof;
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of any component of the Service, except to the limited extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
  • Access the Service by any means other than through the interfaces we provide;
  • Use the Service to build a competing product or service.

We reserve all rights not expressly granted in these Terms. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of the Service or our intellectual property to you.

5. Acceptable Use and Prohibited Conduct

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms, Discord's Terms of Service, and Discord's Community Guidelines. You must not use the Service to:

  • Harass, threaten, abuse, stalk, defame, or harm any person or group of people;
  • Distribute, promote, or facilitate spam, phishing, malware, viruses, or other harmful code;
  • Post or transmit content that is illegal, obscene, defamatory, or that infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party;
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
  • Engage in any automated scraping, crawling, or data mining of the Service or its infrastructure;
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network associated with the Service without our prior written authorization;
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security, rate-limiting, billing, Premium gating, or access-control features of the Service;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service, other accounts, or systems connected to the Service;
  • Abuse economy systems, vote rewards, License Keys, or billing (including fraud, chargebacks in bad faith, key resale, or vote farming);
  • Use the Service to facilitate any illegal activity, including violation of any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion and without prior notice or liability, to suspend or terminate access to the Service for any user or server that violates these Terms, engages in harmful conduct, or whose use we determine to be detrimental to the Service or other users. We may also reverse fraudulent economy transactions, wipe Virtual Currency, revoke License Keys, or disable features as needed to protect the Service.

6. Premium Subscriptions

Billing. Certain features of the Service are available only under a paid Premium subscription. Premium is billed on a per-server, monthly basis at the price displayed on the Pricing page or billing dashboard at the time of purchase. Prices are in U.S. dollars and may be subject to applicable taxes. Subscriptions renew automatically on a monthly basis until cancelled. By subscribing, you authorize us (through Stripe) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

Payment Processing. All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By subscribing to Premium or purchasing add-ons or credits, you agree to Stripe's Services Agreement. We do not store, access, or transmit your full payment card details; all such information is handled exclusively by Stripe.

Cancellation. You may cancel your Premium subscription at any time through the billing portal accessible from your server's dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access to Premium features until that date and will not be charged for the following period.

Refunds. All subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or at our sole discretion. Partial-month refunds are not provided. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us through our support server within 14 days of the charge.

Price Changes. We reserve the right to change subscription pricing at any time. We will provide at least 30 days' advance notice to active subscribers before any price increase takes effect on their renewal. Your continued subscription after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price.

Chargebacks. If you initiate an unauthorized chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer, we reserve the right to immediately suspend your Premium access and, at our discretion, permanently ban the associated server from the Premium tier.

Fast Tracking add-on. Fast Tracking is an optional paid add-on for servers with active Premium. It may be purchased as a separate Stripe subscription at the price shown on the billing page, or included at signup through a bundled Premium + Fast Tracking plan when offered. Fast Tracking is tied to the same server as Premium and does not transfer independently except as part of a Premium transfer or bundle subscription.

License keys. Premium or Fast Tracking may also be activated through License Keys redeemed with /redeem (typically by the server owner). Keys are single-use, non-transferable unless we explicitly state otherwise, and may expire after a stated period. We may revoke a key without refund if we determine it was obtained fraudulently, shared in violation of its terms, or resold without authorization.

Premium transfer. If you own multiple servers with Sentinel installed, you may transfer Stripe-managed Premium from one server to another you own through the billing dashboard, subject to monthly transfer limits shown in the dashboard. Transfer immediately ends Premium on the source server and moves remaining subscription time, auto-renewal, and active Fast Tracking (if any) to the destination server. Key-based Premium follows the rules shown at transfer time. Full AI Credits and other server-tied balances do not transfer with Premium unless we explicitly state otherwise at the time of transfer.

One subscription per server. Premium and Fast Tracking are licensed per Discord server (guild), not per individual Discord account. A single user may hold Premium on multiple servers only by purchasing or activating separate subscriptions or keys for each server.

Free tier limits. Free servers may have lower feature limits than Premium servers. Certain features — including AI Auto-Moderation, Full AI scanning, AI Website Tracking, server structure backups, welcome verification gates, advanced automation, and other capabilities described on the Pricing page — are available only on Premium servers or subject to Premium-tier limits. Current Free and Premium limits are described on the Pricing page and in the dashboard and may change as described in Section 11.

7. Full AI Credits

Availability. Full AI message scanning is available only on servers with an active Premium subscription. Credit packs are optional one-time purchases; selective AI auto-moderation remains included with Premium without credits.

Usage. When Full AI is enabled, each eligible message scan consumes one (1) credit. Server administrators may set optional scan limits (per day, week, or month) and bypass channels or roles from the automod dashboard. When credits are exhausted, Full AI scanning stops; selective AI and non-AI moderation features continue to operate as configured.

Purchases. Credit packs are sold as one-time payments through Stripe at the prices shown on your server's AI Credits dashboard. Credits are tied to the purchasing server, do not expire while the Service remains available and Premium remains required for Full AI, and are non-transferable between servers unless we explicitly provide a transfer mechanism.

Refunds. Credit pack purchases are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or at our sole discretion. Partially used packs are not refundable.

Payment processing. Credit purchases are processed by Stripe, Inc. We store purchase metadata (pack type, amount, guild ID, and Stripe payment identifiers) to credit your balance and resolve billing issues. We do not store full payment card details.

No accuracy guarantee. Full AI and all AI-assisted moderation are probabilistic. We do not guarantee detection accuracy, completeness, or that harmful content will be caught or that safe content will never be flagged. Server Administrators remain responsible for reviewing settings and moderation outcomes.

8. Economy, Virtual Currency, and Games

The Service may include an economy system (balances, bank, shop, inventory, fishing/hunting, work, and similar features) and entertainment games that use Virtual Currency (including blackjack, high/low, slots, coinflip, and related commands).

  • No real-world value. Virtual Currency and items have no cash value, are not redeemable for real money or prizes of monetary value from us, and create no property interest enforceable against us outside these Terms.
  • Entertainment only. Games that use Virtual Currency are for entertainment only and are not real-money gambling. There is no guarantee of winning, fairness beyond our then-current published rules, or continued availability of any game.
  • Scope. Economy data may be configured as global (shared across participating servers) or local (per server). Default and Premium-gated modes are described in the dashboard and may change.
  • Operator controls. We may reset balances, reverse transactions, ban users from economy features, disable games, or wipe economy data for abuse, fraud, errors, or Service integrity — without liability for lost Virtual Currency.
  • Server Administrator duty. Server Administrators decide whether to enable economy features for their community and are responsible for any local rules or age restrictions they impose.

9. User Content

You retain ownership of any User Content you submit through the Service. By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to store, display, transmit, and process that content solely as necessary to provide, secure, and improve the Service, and as otherwise described in our Privacy Policy.

You represent and warrant that: (a) you own or have the necessary rights to submit the User Content; (b) the User Content does not violate these Terms, any applicable law, or the rights of any third party; and (c) the User Content does not contain personally identifiable information of minors under 13 that you are not authorized to provide.

We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or appropriateness of any User Content. We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to remove User Content that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable. Data access and deletion requests are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Discord Privileged Intents, Message Processing, and AI Features

Privileged intents. By inviting Sentinel to a server, the Server Administrator acknowledges that the bot uses Discord privileged intents (Message Content, Server Members, and Presence) as described in our Privacy Policy, solely to operate configured features — not for advertising or selling personal data.

Message processing. Message content in servers where Sentinel is present may be processed in real time for non-AI features (including keyword auto-moderation, leveling, custom commands, automations, sticky messages, and prefix commands) as described in our Privacy Policy. Enabling those features constitutes the Server Administrator's authorization for that processing on behalf of the server.

AI Auto-Moderation and Full AI. When AI Auto-Moderation, Full AI, or similar AI features are enabled, message content may be forwarded to third-party AI providers (including OpenAI and/or Anthropic) for analysis. By enabling those features, the Server Administrator consents to that forwarding for the server and acknowledges that this consent covers members of that server. Automated moderation decisions may produce false positives or false negatives. We make no warranty regarding accuracy. Server Administrators are solely responsible for reviewing settings and for consequences of automated actions in their servers. We are not liable for claims arising from automated moderation errors.

AI Website Tracking and theme generation. Premium servers may configure AI Website Tracking or AI-assisted branding/theme tools. When enabled, Sentinel may fetch configured URLs or send admin-provided prompts to AI providers. Server Administrators are responsible for lawful use of monitored URLs and for informing members where required. We do not guarantee accuracy of AI outputs, alerts, or generated themes.

Welcome verification gate (Premium). Premium servers may require new members to complete a verification interaction (for example, clicking a Verify button) before receiving full access, including temporary role restrictions. This is not a third-party captcha challenge unless we later add one and update these Terms. Server Administrators are solely responsible for configuring verification, informing members, complying with Discord's rules, and any consequences of role restrictions.

Server backups (Premium). Premium servers may create snapshots that may include roles, channels, permission overwrites, Sentinel configuration, and member roster metadata (such as user IDs, display names/nicknames, and role lists). Snapshots are a convenience only. We do not guarantee completeness, currency, or suitability. Restore operations may overwrite server structure and are performed entirely at the Server Administrator's risk. We are not liable for data loss, partial restores, permission errors, or harm from creating, storing, or applying a backup.

MEE6 XP import. Sentinel may import leveling data from MEE6's public leaderboard API or from administrator-supplied exports. Imported data is processed at your direction. We make no warranty regarding accuracy. By initiating an import, the Server Administrator represents authority to import that data and accepts responsibility for reviewing results before applying them.

RSS, news feeds, Twitch, and YouTube alerts. Servers may configure third-party feeds or stream/upload alerts (subject to Free/Premium limits). Server Administrators are solely responsible for selecting sources, lawful reposting, and compliance with publisher, Twitch, YouTube/Google, and copyright terms. Twitch subscriber-role linking may require member OAuth under Twitch's policies. We do not control or endorse third-party content or availability.

Bot lists and votes. We may post aggregate statistics to bot listing sites (for example top.gg) and grant in-Service rewards for votes. Vote farming or abuse may result in reward removal or suspension.

Removal feedback and product outreach. We may DM server owners with onboarding, patch notes, or optional removal feedback requests. Replies are optional and do not create a support-ticket obligation.

Beta / experimental features. Some features may be labeled beta or experimental. They may change, break, or be removed without notice and are provided strictly as-is.

11. Availability and Modifications

We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at any particular time or that it will be free from interruptions, errors, or downtime. The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may perform scheduled or emergency maintenance at any time without prior notice.

We reserve the right, at any time and without notice, to: (a) modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or the entire Service; (b) change feature availability between the Free and Premium tiers; or (c) impose limits on certain features or restrict access to portions of the Service. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service, including loss of Virtual Currency, credits, or configuration.

12. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service integrates with and may link to third-party services including Discord, Stripe, OpenAI, Anthropic, Twitch, YouTube/Google, MEE6, top.gg, Discord Bot List, hosting providers, and RSS/Atom feed publishers. These third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any third-party services, feed content, or imported third-party data, and your use of them is at your own risk.

We are not affiliated with Discord Inc., Stripe, OpenAI, Anthropic, Twitch, Google/YouTube, MEE6, top.gg, or Discord Bot List. "Discord" is a trademark of Discord Inc. We are not responsible for compromised Discord accounts, unauthorized OAuth use, or third-party outages.

13. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its code, design, logos, branding, and all content created by us, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved by us.

If you believe any content accessible through the Service infringes your copyright, please contact us through our support server with: a description of the copyrighted work, a description of where the infringing material is located, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief, and your electronic or physical signature. We will respond to valid notices in accordance with applicable law.

14. Termination

By you. You may stop using the Service at any time by removing Sentinel from your Discord server(s) and ceasing to access the dashboard. Removing the bot does not automatically delete all stored data or issue refunds; retention and deletion are governed by our Privacy Policy and Section 6–7 of these Terms.

By us. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for violation of these Terms, non-payment, abuse, or conduct harmful to other users or to us. Upon termination, your license to use the Service immediately terminates.

Effect of termination. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. Unused Full AI Credits, Virtual Currency, and configuration may be forfeited when the Service ends for your server or when Premium-required features stop, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 8, 9, 10, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20) will continue to apply.

15. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT ANY PARTICULAR FEATURE (INCLUDING AI, MODERATION, ECONOMY, BACKUPS, OR ALERTS) WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS.

16. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE, OUR CONTRIBUTORS, OR ANYONE ACTING ON OUR BEHALF BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, VIRTUAL CURRENCY, CREDITS, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES — ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE (INCLUDING PREMIUM, FAST TRACKING, AND CREDIT PACKS) IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) TWENTY-FIVE U.S. DOLLARS ($25.00).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (including for fraud or willful misconduct where such exclusion is prohibited).

17. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Chopstick308, and any contributors to the Service, from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your User Content; (d) your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property or privacy rights; (e) any harm caused to server members as a result of your configuration or use of the Service (including AI moderation, verification gates, economy systems, or backups); or (f) your server's content or conduct.

18. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

Informal Resolution. Before initiating any formal dispute, you agree to first contact us through our support server and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will try to resolve the dispute within 30 days of receiving notice.

Binding Arbitration. If informal resolution fails, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service — including any question of whether such dispute is subject to arbitration — shall be settled by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will be conducted in English. The seat of arbitration will be in the State of Florida, United States, unless AAA rules or applicable law require otherwise. The arbitrator's decision will be final and binding, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Class Action Waiver. YOU AND WE AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR OUR INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. Unless both parties agree in writing, the arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims and may not otherwise preside over any form of representative or class proceeding.

Exceptions. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent actual or threatened infringement of intellectual property rights, or to address an emergency where irreparable harm is imminent.

Opt-Out. You may opt out of binding arbitration by notifying us in writing through our support server within 30 days of first using the Service (or within 30 days of this arbitration clause first applying to you). Opting out does not affect any other provision of these Terms.

19. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms and any disputes arising hereunder shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. For any disputes not subject to arbitration under Section 18, you consent to the exclusive personal jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in the State of Florida.

20. General Provisions

Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. A waiver of any breach will not constitute a waiver of any subsequent breach.

Force Majeure. We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, internet or infrastructure outages, actions of third-party platforms (including Discord), AI providers, payment processors, or changes in applicable law.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may freely assign our rights and obligations under these Terms.

No Agency. Nothing in these Terms creates any agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship between you and us.

Export and sanctions. You may not use the Service if you are prohibited from receiving services under applicable U.S. sanctions or export laws.

Notices. All notices to us should be delivered through our Discord support server. We may provide notices to you through the dashboard, via Discord, or by updating these Terms.

Headings. Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
